Buying A Ladies Watch – What To Look For
by Louise Crickton
If you are reading this you are either an eager eyed lady on the prowl for the latest fashion piece or a guy hunting for gift ideas for that special lady. But how do you find ladies watches that are both good quality and also for a good price? Most shoppers are clueless as to what they are looking for in quality and often automatically align the quality of a piece with it’s price. The problem with that scenario is you will never find a really good deal. We are going to go over some simple pointers to look for that can point to a piece being high quality.
Finding Quality Ladies Watches
The first thing to look at when buying a steel, silver of gold watch is the weight. Watches that look like they should weight a tonne but are actually quite light may in fact be made from inferior light metals or may even be made with hollowed out links. A heavy watch is often a good watch. Check that the links are simple with a pin at either end and straight. This means they are likely to be solid.
Another thing to look for especially when buying gold plated watches is to check how much of the links are plated. If the back and sides are plated it tends to suggest that the watch maker is confident in the plating and is not worried that when it mixes with the oils in your arm that there will be any negative effects. Plating on just the front however tends to be cheaper thin plating and should be avoided.
Ladies Sport Watches
When shopping for a sports watch the important things to look for are comfort, read-able time piece and water resistance. While designer watches follow the general rule of the heavier the better sports watches should be light and almost unnoticeable. Most sport watches’ time pieces are LED screens. The important thing to look for in an LED screen for a ladies sports watch is strong, bold numbering. Lighter screens when caught in the glare of the sun can be very difficult to make out.
Water resistance if an essential if enjoy going for a swim but unless you’re a diver any decent water resistant watch will do the trick. However remember that most watches water resistant guarantee is null and void once it’s opened for example to change a battery.
